Have you heard much about the new Ford Focus Electric? We'd be surprised if you haven't, the industry has been buzzing about it for a few months now. The day of the all-electric Focus is creeping closer. We know because Ford recently launched a website where interested parties can reserve their Focus EVs. For just under $40,000 (minus a potential $7,500 tax credit), consumers can get themselves behind the wheel of the latest electric vehicle to hit the American streets.

Where can you get one? Well, customers in the New York metro area and California will get theirs first. Following shortly after: Georgia, Texas, Massachusetts, Illinois, Colorado, Florida, Arizona, Oregon, North Carolina, Washington, and the District of Columbia. That's right, Pennsylvania isn't on that list, but that doesn't mean you can't order one from a neighboring state. The list merely represents the places where dealers are eligible to sell the EVs.

The Ford Focus Electric will be as feature-filled as the original Ford Focus, including a navigation system, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, satellite radio, and stability and traction control. Other options include MyKey Technology, Intelligent Access Push-Button Start, and upholstery and seating made of recycled and bio-based materials.
